The Premier League 2025/26 season is finally here!
The Premier League 2025/26 season brings new managers, bold transfers, and plenty of unanswered questions. Will Liverpool defend their crown? Can Arsenal finally go all the way? Or will Manchester City bounce back from a rare stumble? Here’s a full team-by-team breakdown.
Check Out Our First PL Bet of the Season!
Manager: Arne Slot | 2024/25 Finish: 1st
Slot inherited a strong squad and proved his doubters wrong by guiding Liverpool to the Premier League 2024/25 title. Salah was unstoppable, topping the scoring charts, though Luis Díaz’s departure leaves a gap. Reinforcements are expected in both defence and attack before the transfer window closes.
Key Player: Mohamed Salah remains Liverpool’s talisman — but can he repeat last season’s incredible output?
Manager: Mikel Arteta | 2024/25 Finish: 2nd
Three seasons as runners-up. Arteta’s Arsenal added Viktor Gyökeres up front and Martin Zubimendi in midfield, spending big to address weaknesses. Their defence is already elite, but the opening fixtures — United, Liverpool, City, Newcastle — will test their title credentials.
Key Player: Viktor Gyökeres arrives as the missing striker. Can he carry the Gunners to glory in Premier League 2024/25?
Manager: Pep Guardiola | 2024/25 Finish: 3rd
Rodri’s injury and De Bruyne’s exit leave huge gaps. Newcomers Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders must step up creatively, while Haaland seeks redemption after being outshone by Salah. Guardiola has challenges, but City’s firepower still makes them contenders.
Key Player: Rodri — his absence last season coincided with City’s worst run under Pep.
Manager: Enzo Maresca | 2024/25 Finish: 4th
Back in the Champions League, Chelsea still lack consistency. Heavy recruitment has been the theme once more, but defensive issues persist. Squad depth will be tested with European football on the calendar.
Key Player: Cole Palmer, Chelsea’s top scorer, is again central to their attacking hopes.
Manager: Ruben Amorim | 2024/25 Finish: 15th
United endured their worst season in decades, finishing just above the drop zone. Amorim has fewer fixtures to manage and more time on the training pitch. Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have been brought in to steady the ship.
Key Player: Benjamin Sesko’s finishing could define whether United rise again in Premier League 2025/26.
Manager: Unai Emery | 2024/25 Finish: 6th
Villa narrowly missed the top four and lost Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio. Emery still has Morgan Rogers and Boubacar Kamara, and they remain top-six material.
Key Player: Boubacar Kamara provides balance and control in midfield.
Manager: Eddie Howe | 2024/25 Finish: 5th
Trophy success last year but off-field issues threaten progress. Alexander Isak wants out, transfers stalled, and uncertainty grows. New arrivals Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale bring some optimism.
Key Player: Anthony Gordon will be relied upon if Isak leaves.
Manager: Thomas Frank | 2024/25 Finish: 17th
Spurs barely survived after 22 defeats, despite winning the Europa League. Son is gone, Maddison injured, and the defence is thin. Kudus and Palhinha add quality, but survival is priority one.
Key Player: Micky van de Ven’s fitness is critical for stability.
Manager: Nuno Espírito Santo | 2024/25 Finish: 7th
Forest defied expectations with European qualification. Squad depth is a concern, but Morgan Gibbs-White remains the creative spark.
Key Player: Morgan Gibbs-White — their heartbeat in attack.
Manager: Fabian Hürzeler | 2024/25 Finish: 8th
Brighton sold key players as usual but reinvested in youth, including 18-year-old Charalampos Kostoulas. Development will take time, but the system remains strong.
Key Player: Jan Paul van Hecke leads the defence.
Manager: Andoni Iraola | 2024/25 Finish: 9th
Bournemouth’s best-ever finish is followed by defensive exits. New signings must adapt quickly if the club is to push for Europe again.
Key Player: Evanilson’s goals will make or break their season.
Manager: Oliver Glasner | 2024/25 Finish: 12th
FA Cup winners but only in the Conference League due to ownership issues. Retaining stars like Eze and Guehi is essential.
Key Player: Eberechi Eze, their creative and attacking leader.
Manager: Marco Silva | 2024/25 Finish: 11th
Record points last year but an ageing, thin squad. Recruitment has been quiet, and questions remain about Silva’s backing.
Key Player: Emile Smith Rowe — his creativity is vital.
Manager: David Moyes | 2024/25 Finish: 13th
Moyes provides stability, but Everton’s squad remains small. Grealish’s loan is exciting, though departures have weakened them.
Key Player: Jordan Pickford — the backbone of the team.
Manager: Daniel Farke | Promoted
Dominant in the Championship, Leeds now face tougher battles. Recruitment is steady but lacking a proven Premier League scorer.
Key Player: Dan James’ pace and work rate will be crucial.
Manager: Graham Potter | 2024/25 Finish: 14th
Potter steadied West Ham but Kudus’ departure hurts. Bowen again carries the burden.
Key Player: Jarrod Bowen, consistent and reliable.
Manager: Vítor Pereira | 2024/25 Finish: 16th
Losses of Cunha and Aït-Nouri sting, but Larsen’s permanent signing gives hope.
Key Player: Jørgen Strand Larsen must deliver goals.
Manager: Scott Parker | Promoted
Championship’s best defence secured promotion. Goals may be an issue.
Key Player: Armando Broja must score enough to keep them up.
Manager: Régis Le Bris | Promoted via Play-offs
Youthful, energetic, but lacking top-flight experience. Xhaka adds leadership.
Key Player: Granit Xhaka brings vital experience and leadership.
Manager: Keith Andrews | 2024/25 Finish: 10th
New coach, key players lost, and uncertainty ahead. Survival is realistic, ambition less so.
Key Player: Caoimhín Kelleher finally gets his shot as No.1.
