Brentford – West Ham
Brentford Community Stadium
Saturday 16:00
You shouldn’t be late to a Brentford match. For the second weekend in a row, The Bees took the lead within the first 30 seconds, with Bryan Mbeumo kicking things off against Tottenham. However, just like against City the previous weekend, it ended in defeat for the injury-hit London team. All three of their losses have come away from home, against Spurs, Liverpool, and the reigning champions. Yoane Wissa, Joshua Dasilva, Rico Henry, Mathias Jensen, Aaron Hickey, Christian Norgaard, and Igor Thiago are all injured and unavailable.
West Ham has only won one of their first five matches after suffering a heavy 0-3 home defeat to Chelsea last weekend. In Wednesday’s 1-5 loss to Liverpool, Julen Lopetegui was mostly focused on criticizing the referees, though the problems clearly lie elsewhere. Edson Alvarez is suspended after his red card at Anfield, while Nicklas Fullkrug remains doubtful. West Ham has won only 5 of their 24 league matches in 2024.
We say:
Last season’s two meetings ended 4-2 and 3-2 in favor of the respective home teams. We are hopeful for goals again this Saturday and are betting on over 2.5 goals.
