Bournemouth vs Southampton

Also, on Monday night, Premier League football is on the menu

After two action-packed Premier League games on Sunday, more fun awaits tonight. Ipswich deservedly earned a point at home against Aston Villa yesterday, and the newly promoted Town have only lost to Liverpool and Manchester City so far.

However, the main talking point on Sunday was Tottenham’s 3-0 win at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes received an undeserved red card, but this wasn’t what decided the match. Tottenham were clearly the better side both before and after the sending-off and should have won by much more than 3-0. Timo Werner, perhaps unsurprisingly, is responsible for the fact that Spurs “only” won 3-0.

On Monday, a match between teams in the lower half of the table is set. Bournemouth have lost their last two games but will overtake Manchester United if they win tonight. However, the Cherries have only won one of their last eight Premier League matches. Southampton are in an even worse position, having not won any of their last 18 games in the top division. Russell Martin’s squad has struggled since their promotion, and with only one point on the board, they are just above Wolves at the bottom of the table.

Bournemouth vs Southampton
Vitality Stadium, Monday 21:00

Bournemouth have only won one of their last seven Premier League games. After back-to-back losses against top 4 contenders, they need to pick up points in the next two matches against the newly promoted duo of Southampton and Leicester. After that, they face Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester City in quick succession. They’ve won just one of their last nine games across all competitions. Tyler Adams is the only player out injured, but manager Andoni Iraola is suspended and will have to watch the game from above.

Southampton seemed on their way to their first win since promotion when Tyler Dibling’s fifth-minute goal against Ipswich held until the 90th minute. However, an equalizer in the fifth minute of stoppage time meant they still have only one point. The Saints have now gone 18 straight Premier League games without a win. Their defense remains chaotic, and their forward options don’t meet Premier League quality. Gavin Bazunu, Will Smallbone, and Kamaldeen Sulemana are all injured, while Jack Stephens is suspended.

Betting Tip

We expect a close contest with few goals. We’re going for under 2.5 goals at Vitality Stadium tonight.
