Gary O’Neil dismissed after Saturday’s defeat to Ipswich
Wolves have parted ways with manager Gary O’Neil following a 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town on Saturday. This decision came just three days after chairman Jeff Shi expressed public backing for O’Neil after their defeat to West Ham.
The loss marked Wolves' 11th defeat in the Premier League this season. With only two wins, the team sits 19th in the table, four points away from safety.
– “We’re grateful to Gary for his effort and commitment, and we wish him all the best in the future,” said Shi.
O’Neil replaced Julen Lopetegui just days before the season began. Despite a brief turnaround in form in October, Wolves have struggled defensively, conceding more goals than any other team in the league. Off-pitch issues, including disciplinary problems, have added to the club's challenges.

Who’s Next?
Several names are being linked to the vacancy. Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the early favorite, while Kjetil Knutsen of Bodø/Glimt has also been mentioned.
Other candidates include Vítor Pereira, José Mourinho, Graham Potter, and Michael Carrick. Wolves are reportedly focusing on candidates who are out of work due to limited financial resources.
The club hopes to make a quick appointment to turn around their difficult season.
