Early kick off in saturday’s first Premier League match
One last Premier League round before another international break, and the action kicks off with a match at Selhurst Park between Palace and Liverpool. LFC boss Arne Slot made history midweek when the Reds won at home against Bologna. The Champions League triumph means Slot has won eight of his first nine games, something no other Liverpool manager has done before him. Will they do it again on Saturday?
Oliver Glasner deservedly received much praise for the job he did with Palace last season, but this fall has offered little for Eagles fans to cheer about. They had the most possession, the most shots, and the most chances against Everton last weekend, but it still ended in a 1-2 loss at Goodison Park. They have yet to win this season, making this the club’s second weakest start to a season in the last twelve years.
Liverpool were never at their best against Wolves, but still left Molineux with three points. Something similar happened midweek against Bologna, where they won despite allowing plenty of chances. Jota isn’t in his best form, and Darwin Núñez isn’t impressing either. Perhaps in-form Cody Gakpo should be tried as the central striker? The left-wing position is occupied, but Gakpo is too good to sit on the bench.
Crystal Palace hasn't found their rhythm, but they have traditionally had a strong grip on Liverpool. The visitors have only won one of their last four against the capital club and are coming straight from a tough Champions League battle. Liverpool are favorites in danger, so we suggest betting on a home win with Draw No Bet.
