Betting Tips: Atalanta – Como

It’s Monday night football from Serie A, and we’ve dug up a betting tip as Atalanta welcomes a newly promoted Como team, led by Cesc Fabregas.

Atalanta was in action in the Champions League on Thursday and had a golden opportunity to take all three points at home against Arsenal. However, David Raya was not caught off guard, not even from the penalty spot. The Arsenal keeper not only made a brilliant penalty save but also reacted like a cat on the rebound as the match ended goalless between the Bergamo club and the Premier League giant.

Mixed start to the season

In Serie A, Atalanta has two wins and two losses from their first four matches. They have beaten Lecce and Fiorentina, but away games against Torino and Inter ended with a total score of 1-6 and zero points. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team continues to show signs that they have work to do defensively, but they are still scoring plenty of goals. In the last round against Fiorentina, they came back from both 0-1 and 1-2 to win, with a match-winning goal from Ademola Lookman. Gianluca Scamacca, Giorgio Scalvini, and Rafal Toloi are injured and unavailable for tonight’s game. The record against Como is excellent, but it’s worth noting that it’s been 20 years since these clubs last met in a competitive match.

Still searching for their first win

Como has just two points from their first five matches since promotion, and disappointment was high when they lost their last Serie A match in stoppage time. With just 15 minutes left to play, they were 2-0 up against Bologna, before conceding the equalizer and then a stoppage-time goal. This was also Como’s first home game of the season. Their promotion brought new demands for facilities, resulting in the renovation of Stadio Sinigaglia over the summer. Their first three matches of the season were all played away. Raphael Varane is injured and unavailable, while fellow center-back Alberto Dossena is doubtful.
