Aston Villa – Manchester United

Aston Villa’s flying high

Aston Villa made history on Wednesday when they won their first home match in the Champions League since the early 80s, defeating none other than Bayern Munich 1-0 at Villa Park. Super substitute Jhon Duran was once again the hero. In the Premier League, they’ve only lost to Arsenal but were put under heavy pressure by Ipswich, with a 2-2 draw at Portman Road last weekend. Villa also suffered defeats both home and away against Manchester United last season. John McGinn is the latest addition to the injury list.

Dead End

While Aston Villa continues to celebrate new highs, Manchester United seems to be heading further into a dead end. Once feared, Old Trafford has now seen United lose 8 of their last 20 Premier League games, and many believe last weekend’s 0-3 defeat to Tottenham was one of the worst performances by a United side at the so-called “Theatre of Dreams.” Tottenham dominated in every aspect, while United players stood like statues—lacking courage, a plan, or willingness. Another disappointment followed midweek with a 3-3 draw against Porto. Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo are doubtful for Sunday.

Form and the league standings suggest a clear home win, but it’s not that simple. United traditionally have a strong record against Aston Villa, having lost just one of their last 25 away matches at Villa Park in the Premier League. We are betting on an away win, Draw No Bet.
