Arsenal: Havertz Out for the Season

Frustration for Arsenal as Kai Havertz is expected to miss the rest of the season

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury during the team’s training camp in Dubai. The 25-year-old’s absence adds to Arsenal’s attacking concerns, with Bukayo Saka also sidelined and Gabriel Jesus already ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. Gabriel Martinelli also sustained a hamstring injury in last week’s cup defeat to Newcastle and is expected to be out for at least four weeks.

Havertz has played 34 matches across all competitions this season and, despite frequent criticism, is Arsenal’s top scorer with 15 goals and five assists. Earlier this month, Mikel Arteta expressed his frustration over the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market, particularly after a bid for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins was rejected. Rumors linking Arsenal with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson also failed to materialize into signings.

Arsenal headed to warmer climates for a training camp following their semifinal defeat to Newcastle. Last season, after a similar mid-season break, the Gunners won 16 of their next 18 matches.
